About
Balaídos has been the home of RC Celta de Vigo since 1928. Originally designed by Jenaro de la Fuente and later remodelled by Pedro de la Puente, it has staged Celta's home games for almost a century. The ground now holds 24,870 spectators.
The one-hour guided tour combines the Museo Centenario with a behind-the-scenes look at Balaídos. It takes in the old and the current players' tunnel, the pitch, the benches, the dressing room, the mixed zone, the press room and one of the stands. A virtual reality experience is also on offer. The museum looks back on Celta's first hundred years through its trophies, shirts, pennants and video archives.
The museum is open Monday to Friday, from 10am to 2pm and from 4pm to 7pm. The stadium tour runs from Friday to Sunday, by prior booking, with adjusted times on matchdays.
Did you know?
One of Celta Vigo's most memorable feats at the Abanca Balaídos stadium is their 4-1 win over FC Barcelona in September 2015. And with good reason: that day, Eduardo Berizzo's players ended Barça's unbeaten league run, which had lasted since February!
