About
After nearly fifty years at Vista Alegre, Girona FC built Montilivi, opened on 14 August 1970 with a match against FC Barcelona. Launched at the start of the 1967-1968 season, the project was meant to provide four times more space than the old ground and to give the club a permanent home. Designed for 17,000 spectators, the stadium saw its capacity fall as it was modernised and seats were installed behind the goals.
The guided tour takes in the stands, including the directors' box, the press room, both dressing rooms, the tunnel, the pitch and the bench. Allow around forty minutes. It also includes a virtual reality experience and ends at the official Blanquivermells store. Allow about an hour. The club runs it at certain times of the year.

Montilivi hosted its first Champions League match on 2 October 2024. That evening, Girona FC lost to Feyenoord Rotterdam in a thrilling encounter (2-3). David Lopez, a 34-year-old defender at the time, became the stadium's first ever Champions League scorer.
