About
Built for the 1999 Universiade, the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix replaced the old Lluís Sitjar and hosts RCD Mallorca's home games. The redevelopment launched in 2022 removed the running track, bringing the stands closer to the pitch. The club unveiled this new layout on 13 January 2024 against Celta Vigo. The ground now holds 25,736 spectators.
The guided tour sets off from the mural dedicated to Samuel Eto'o and moves on to the directors' box. It then takes in the Premium Club and the 1916 Club, the press room and the mixed zone, before reaching the tunnel, the dressing rooms and the edge of the pitch. Visitors leave with a digital souvenir photograph.
Did you know?
Son Moix is one of the most modern grounds in Spain: built for the 1999 Summer Universiade, it was completely refurbished between 2020 and 2022. Its youth has not stopped it from staging great sporting moments already, not least when RCD Mallorca finished the 2000-2001 season on the Liga podium. Among the squad? A certain Samuel Eto'o, who went on to become a legend on the island.
