About
St James' Park has been Newcastle United's home since 1892, the year Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End merged to create the club. The major redevelopment launched in the 1990s and completed in 2000 pushed the capacity beyond 52,000 and gave the ground its present-day outline.
The Classic Tour lasts around 1 hour 30 minutes and takes in the players' tunnel, the home dressing room, the Media Suite and one of the highest points in the stadium.
Tours depart at 12:30 and 14:30 from Monday to Friday, then hourly from 10:30 to 14:30 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Did you know?
Beyond football, St James' Park is also known for hosting some of world rugby's biggest fixtures, from the Super League to the World Cup. At the 2015 World Cup, for instance, South Africa, New Zealand and Scotland each played a match here. You can imagine the atmosphere.
