About

Built in Fontvieille, a district in the west of the Principality of Monaco, the Stade Louis-II was inaugurated on 25 January 1985 by Prince Rainier III. AS Monaco have hosted their opponents there ever since. The ground sits at the heart of a complex that also includes the salle Gaston-Médecin and the Albert-II nautical centre.

Guided tours run from Monday to Friday, except public holidays, with departures at 10.30am, 11.45am, 2pm, 3.30pm and 5pm. They may be cancelled when events are being held. On AS Monaco matchdays, the stadium gates open two hours before kick-off.

Did you know?

To overcome the shortage of space in the Principality, the Stade Louis II was built out over the sea, on a revolutionary platform reclaimed from the waters of the Mediterranean. Standing more than 8 metres above Monaco's roadways, its pitch actually rests on the roof of its own car park. Quite a feat of engineering, isn't it?
