About

The Más Monumental of River Plate, in Núñez, grew out of Antonio Vespucio Liberti's plan to build the largest stadium in Argentina. Work, entrusted to the Aslan y Ezcurra practice, began in 1936. The ground was inaugurated on 26 May 1938 against Peñarol. Originally fitted with three stands, the stadium was gradually closed in until it formed an unbroken ring around the pitch. Extensively redeveloped since 2020, it is today the largest stadium in South America, with 85,018 seats.

The Museo River tells the story of the club and displays the trophies won by the Millonarios. It features a 4D immersive experience that lets you live a matchday at the Monumental. The guided stadium tour takes you down from the stands to the edge of the pitch, taking in the away dressing room and the players' tunnel.

The museum is open daily from 10am to 7pm, with the last tour departing at 5pm.
