About
Built for the London 2012 Games in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the London Stadium is the former Olympic stadium of the British capital. It is now home to West Ham United and UK Athletics, while also hosting rugby, baseball and major concerts. In football mode, it holds 62,500 spectators. It also boasts the longest cantilevered roof in the world.
The guided tour lasts about an hour and takes in the West Ham dressing room, the players' tunnel, the pitchside and several panoramic viewpoints. Building work or events may, however, put certain areas off limits.
Tours run Monday to Friday from 11am to 3pm and at weekends from 10am to 4pm, with adjusted times on matchdays.
Did you know?
During a Europa League qualifying round against Slovenian side Domzale, Senegalese midfielder Cheikhou Kouyaté wrote himself into West Ham's history at the London Olympic Stadium. The first Hammer to score there, and the first to net a brace on the pitch, the Dakar-born player will forever be part of the club's records. West Ham, incidentally, won 3-0 that day.
