About

Since 2017, the Riyadh Air Metropolitano has been the home of Atlético de Madrid, taking over from the Vicente Calderón. Built around the former Peineta and designed by Cruz y Ortiz, it holds more than 70,000 spectators and staged the 2019 Champions League final.

The tour runs from the circular dressing room to the presidential box, taking in the mixed zone, the players' tunnel, the bench and the press room. It continues into the Atlético de Madrid museum, where immersive displays bring the great chapters of the Colchoneros' history back to life. Allow about an hour for the stadium and a further hour for the museum.

Everything is open daily, from 11am to 7pm in winter and until 8pm from late March to mid-October. The route may be altered on match weekends or during first-team training sessions.

Did you know?

Sole owner of the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Atlético Madrid did not, in the end, have to empty its coffers to acquire it: the redevelopment of the ground was largely funded by the property deal struck on the land of the Vicente Calderón, the club's former stadium. In other words, the old paid for the new. Shrewd.
