About

Created to allow France to host the 1998 World Cup, the Stade de France has become the country's great national stadium in Saint-Denis. Built for football, rugby and athletics, it also stages major cultural events. The France football and rugby teams are at home here. Its elliptical roof is suspended above stands whose lower tier can be moved.

The tour lasts about an hour and a half and takes you from the dressing rooms to the tunnel, then out to the edge of the pitch. It also looks back at the stadium's history. A permanent exhibition completes the route. The tour starts at Gate H.

During the school holidays, tours in French start every day at 11am, 2pm and 4pm. For the rest of the year they are scheduled at 4pm on weekdays and at 11am, 2pm and 4pm at weekends, always outside event days. Sessions in English are also organised depending on the season.

Did you know?

Once it switches to concert mode, the Stade de France can hold more than 100,000 spectators, a record set in May 2026 at Jul's concert, thanks to its retractable lower tiers. That enormous capacity puts it ahead of several other legendary European venues, such as Wembley (London), Croke Park (Dublin) and Twickenham (London). A giant.
